Hoonie Cakes
Made with Olive Oil & Love
Hannah (close friends call her Hoonie) Nichols, 27, Austin,TX is the magic behind Hoonie Cakes
Hannah is the friend always baking cakes for her friends and constantly saying, “Yes, it’s vegan.” She started the one-woman olive oil cake operation from her very own kitchen through pure desire to share what she loves to do. Hannah brought me in to develop a brand that felt as real and unique as the cakes themselves. After a long catch-up and brand review, I could already envision messy textures, vintage influences, and naturally, olives.
With all those ingredients, I designed packaging, merch, menus, social content, and other activations to help Hannah & her cakes stand out at the next Barton Creek Farmers' Market

What Hoonie is Made Of:
-
Unique & surprising flavors slowly crafted with care
-
Plant-based ingredients that you can safely order for your grandma’s 90th birthday party
-
Hannah is the woman behind it all. From taking orders via instagram DM to completing the final powdered sugar sift
-
Hoonie is destined to sit amongst Austin’s beloved small businesses — ThoroughBread, Sugar Mama’s, and more. To earn her spot in the city’s pastry community, she does local drop-offs, farmers market mornings, pop-up events, and exclusive Instagram drops
Hoonie Cakes is a one-woman operation, born from a desire to share cake with people she loves.
I pulled from vintage olive oil tins, Japanese packaging ephemera, and hand made ceramics.
I wanted to capture that feeling of something you'd see at same street market in rural Italy when you were 10 that made you stop your family to look at it closer.
